A standing committee meeting of the party held last Saturday decided to expel the alternate central members Biru Tamang (Sudeep) and Uma BK from being alternate members of the party.

Similarly, earlier, the Maoists had asked alternate central member Gorakh Bahadur KC for an explanation. According to the Maoist Center, KC has been asked for an explanation because there was a complaint that the Chinese team that had gone to provide relief for the earthquake victims was beaten up in Jajarkot in November.

Tamang from Bhaktapur faced consequences due to his association with Durga Prasai, a medical entrepreneur, while BK from Kapilvastu joined the CPN-UML.
