Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division Football: Police trounce Friends Club

KATHMANDU, Dec14: The departmental team, Nepal Police Club, thrashed Friends Club, five goals to nil, in the first game held under the ongoing Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Tournament.

KATHMANDU, Dec14: The departmental team, Nepal Police Club, thrashed Friends Club, five goals to nil, in the first game held under the ongoing Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Tournament. 


The match was held at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Complex playground at Satdobato in Lalitpur.

Avishek Rijal scored the first goal for the Police. He converted a pass from Rabi Paswan into a goal in the third minute of the game. Rabi Paswan added another goal, utilizing Hem Tamang’s pass, in the 20th minute, doubling the score for the Police. 


The Police scored three goals in the second half of the match. Captain Bharat Shah scored a goal in the 59th minute, Tej Tamang scored the fourth goal for the police in the 63rd minute while Neer Kumar scored another goal in the 87th minute taking the tally to five. 


With this win, Police has 14 points from eight games whereas Friends has five points from eight matches.
