Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football: Saraswati beats NRT

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Saraswati Youth Club has pulled a win in the first game played today under the eighth round of the ongoing Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Championship.

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Saraswati Youth Club has pulled a win in the first game played today under the eighth round of the ongoing Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League Football Championship. 


Saraswati defeated New Road Team (NRT), 1-0, in the match held at the Satdobato-based All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) complex ground. The first-half of the game ended in a goal-less draw and it was Saraswati’s Victor Amobi who scored a goal in the second-half of the game (73rd minute) through a penalty kick.

Saraswati had won a penalty kick after a hand ball by NRT’s player. With this win, Saraswati added three points in its account. Raj Shahi of Saraswari was declared the ‘man of the match’. 


Saraswati is in the ninth position of the League with nine points whereas NRT, which has conceded its seventh consecutive defeat is in the last position of the points table with one point. 


Manang Marshyangdi is in the first position with cent per cent results. Three Stars Club is in the second position and Sankata is in the third position in the League points tally.
