KATHMANDU, Jan 3: A massive fire has gutted a cotton factory at Satungal in the cpaital on Thursday evening.

According to the Metropolitan Police Circle, the fire broke out Thursday evening in Dipak Cotton Factory located at Satungal. Fire extinguishers and firefighters from Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have been mobilized to the incident site to douse the fire but still are unable to take it into control. Security forces from Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police along with the locals are trying to take the inferno into control. It has been reported that the fire has caught neighboring residences as well.
It is still unknown the cause of the fire. The loss of the physical property is yet to be ascertained.
