According to Minister Basnet, a potential shortage of doctors and healthcare workers in the country is likely in the coming five years due to the Medical Education Act, so it is going to be amended. Stating that there are fewer posts in the medical field than 22 years ago, he said that he will continue to increase it.

He said, "The state shouldn't and won't establish control over work that serves the country just because of one person's hunger strike." He emphasized a forward trajectory by adopting positive aspects and rectifying flaws. His assertion focused on the necessity for the government to establish protocols within the law to assess educational quality and fees while ensuring proper oversight. He advocated a somewhat more lenient stance in the existing education policy.

Minister said that the government's plan includes easing regulations for hospitals with 100 to 300 beds to facilitate teaching programs for nursing and paramedics. Additionally, larger hospitals, those with over 300 beds, will now be enabled to offer MBBS programs. He said that the government is focused on enhancing areas that require improvement in medical education.
