KATHMANDU, Jan 3: A meeting of the top leaders of the ruling alliance is currently underway at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar.

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: A meeting of the top leaders of the ruling alliance is currently underway at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar.


The meeting that started at 9:15 this morning is focused on holding discussions on the election of the members of the National Assembly, PM Deuba's legal expert Keshav Raj Joshi said.

Top leaders of the Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, and Rastriya Janamorcha are attending the meeting.


The ruling parties have already forged a consensus to make an alliance in the National Assembly election. Election to 19 vacant posts of the National Assembly members is taking place on January 26. 


The Election Commission has announced the date of filing nomination of candidates on December 4.
