KATHMANDU, July 19: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicated a possibility of heavy rainfall in some sections of central and western parts in the country for three the next three days.
Monsoon to remain active for two-three days
Issuing a press statement on the weather forecast for three days here today, the Division has also predicted partly cloudy skies at the majority places in the country.
Some places of the country will witness light rain today afternoon while clouds could form partly to fully in some parts of the country at night causing moderate rainfall.
Similarly, the Division has forecasted heavy rainfall in a couple of places in the western and mid western part of the country today while several places across the country will experience light and moderate rainfall on Friday afternoon while a heavy rainfall is likely in a couple of places and central and western part of the country on Friday night.
Likewise, the Division has also predicted similar kind of weather for Saturday.
Temperature rises in Kathmandu Valley
Although Kathmandu Valley has been witnessing light rainfall in the morning and night, with the sunshine for few days, the capital's temperature has risen.
Since the occurrence of monsoon rain went down for some days causing sunny days for two days, the mercury has risen in the Valley.
Meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal said that the temperature would rise across the country for a couple of days. He explained that since the atmosphere remains clear and the sun rays comes directly to the ground, there is rise in temperature.
The maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday and today in Kathmandu Valley was 31.6 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded as 21.4 degree Celsius.
Likewise, Nepalgunj recorded the highest temperature of 38.3 degree Celsius while Jumla recorded the lowest temperature of 24 degree Celsius.
Similarly, Taplejung recorded 29 millimeter of rainfall today while Nepalgunj recorded the lowest rainfall standing at 6 millimeter, according to the Division.
