Milk chilling center set up at Musikot

JAJARKOT, Sept 4: A milk chilling center has been established for the first time in Western Rukum, the district in Karnali province.

The chilling plant has been set up at Solawang of Musikot municipality-6 at the cost of Rs 9.6 million. The Karnali province government contributed around Rs lion to this end while the remaining budget was managed by a local dairy cooperative.


The cooling plant has the capacity of storing 3,000 liters of milk at once, as stated by cooperative chair Dhiran Sherpali. The purpose of establishing the center is to make better utilization of milk produced in the district and to find market for it outside the district. In initial days, the cooperative plans to supply the product to Lamahai of Dang and Nepalgunj of Dang. It expects to collect some 2,500 liters of milk on daily basis. RSS
