KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has vowed to provide utmost support for the Khas museum to be constructed at Sinja Rural Municipality in Jumla district.
Minister Bhattarai gave his word for the same to a team led by House of Representatives member Gajendra Bahadur Mahat, that called on the Minister in Kathmandu today. Acknowledging the importance of preserving Khas civilization and construction of Khas museum, Minister Bhattarai pledged to provide financial support for it and suggested the team to coordinate among the three-tier government for the same.

The team had presented a Detailed Project Report (DPR) about the museum to the Minister. According to the DPR, the construction of the museum is estimated to cost over Rs 130 million. Minister Bhattarai shared that the federal government had allocated Rs 10 million for the construction of the museum this fiscal year and instructed the visiting team to utilize the budget.
"Ensure quality at work. The remaining amount will be arranged," he said. The museum will be built with Rara Lake, Foksundo Lake in the center stage. The museum will house Khas community's culture, history, traditional tools, and statues.
Furthermore, an apple groove, Masta Devta Temple, traditional Panchaldeval, modern hall and canal for irrigation will be built in the museum. The locals have donated around 4,000 square meters of land for the museum. HoR member Mahat was of confidence that the museum would be a cultural landmark.
