KATHMANDU, May 7: The newly-appointed Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Surendra Raj Acharya took the oath of office and secrecy on Sunday.
He was sworn in by President Ramchandra Paudel at a ceremony held at the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas.

Mahindra Ray Yadav of Nepal Socialist Party, who has been handling the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, has been entrusted with the Ministry of Water Supply.
Newly appointed Minister Acharya won the election from Kapilvastu constituency number 2. Acharya, who is considered to be close to President Ramchandra Paudal, had earlier also become the Minister of State for Irrigation.
