Minister Karki in self-isolation at home

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki is staying isolated at his home over doubts of having contracted the novel coronavirus.

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki is staying isolated at his home over doubts of having contracted the novel coronavirus.  


Minister Karki has isolated himself following the news of CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal testing positive for COVID-19 through a PCR test on Saturday.

Minister Karki, who is also the spokesperson for the government, was present at the ruling coalition meeting along with the leaders of other political parties on Friday. The minister said that he will resume work after conducting a PCR test and getting the results. 


Similarly, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has also isolated himself. Meanwhile, CPN (Maoist Center) leaders Haribol Gajurel, Matrika Yadav, Dor Prasad Upadhyay, Ram Prasad Sapkota, and Ramesh Malla have also tested positive for the deadly virus.
