BIRATANAGAR, Jan 15: Minister for Urban Development Arjun Narasingha KC has stressed on constructing quake-resistant buildings strictly abiding by the building code.
Speaking in a program organized on the occasion of 19th Earthquake Safety Day here today, Minister KC opined for awaking people in this regard.
Minister further shared that High Level Directive Committee formed by the Ministry should work so that modern city could be developed by managing pure drinking water, electricity, telecommunications and waste treatment facilities.
He even said that concerned bodies should be alert to provide the amenities to the urban dwellers as per their contribution in paying tax.
According to KC, 42 per cent people live in the urban areas these days as against only 19 per cent five years ago. RSS
