Minister Kirati to donate one-month salary and incentive for education in rural area

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has said he would donate his salary to the education sector.


While assuming his office earlier, Minister Kirati had urged his relatives and well wishers to not welcome him with garlands and bouquets. He had also announced that he would set up a donation box and utilize the proceeds generated for education in remote places.

The money collected in the donation box till Friday, his one-month salary and half month incentives at secretariat totaling Rs 604,000 would be spent for education, he shared.


Minister Kirati also announced that a revolving fund would be set up for a school in a far-flung area. The school would be selected soon.
