CHITWAN, Sept 26: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak has asked the concerned authority to expedite search for and rescue of those missing in the jeep accident occurred on Sunday at Ghoptebhir of Darechowk VDC-3 in Chitwan district along the Prithivi Highway.
Three persons died while three others including former Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire have gone missing when the Scorpio jeep (Ba 9 Cha 1531) en route to Kathmandu from Muktinath had plunged around 150 meters downhill into the Trishuli River.
Minister Lekhak instructed Chief District Officer of Chitwan and the Chiefs of security bodies to accelerate the search and rescue effort for the missing on a war footing.
Furthermore, Lekhak has also instructed to adequately mobilize human resources and equipments for the same.

Meanwhile, Minister Lekhak shared that he telephoned Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and briefed about the situation at the site of incident as well as about the search for the missing ones in the accident.
PM Dahal in response pledged Minister Lekhak to make efforts at diplomatic level to bring submarine like the one widely used in Bangladeshi to track the missing persons and vehicles inside the water.
The PM is expected soon to hold discussions with the high-level security bodies in this connection, said Minister Lekhak.
The security bodies have been instructed to observe precaution in the areas of high risk along the Trishuli River where the cases of road accidents are rising at an alarming rate lately.
Similarly, the instructions include the repairing of the railing broken during the accident at the Highway.
Minister Lekhak made an on-site visit to the incident site and took stock of situation and efforts being made to search the missing ones.
The Council of Ministers will also deliberate on the road accident, according to Minister Lekhak. RSS
