MIT Kathmandu introduces globally accredited BBA and MBA programs as part of its new education initiative

KATHMANDU, September 29: The Model Institute of Technology (MIT), located in Bagbazar, Kathmandu, hosted the MIT Launching Ceremony alongside the Academic Leadership Summit 2023 on Thursday. The event witnessed a joint inauguration by Dr. Arjun Karki, the former Ambassador of Nepal to the USA, and MIT Chairman Surendra Subedi.

KATHMANDU, September 29: The Model Institute of Technology (MIT), located in Bagbazar, Kathmandu, hosted the MIT Launching Ceremony alongside the Academic Leadership Summit 2023 on Thursday. The event witnessed a joint inauguration by Dr. Arjun Karki, the former Ambassador of Nepal to the USA, and MIT Chairman Surendra Subedi.


During the event, MIT Chairman Subedi highlighted the necessity of providing globally accredited education within Nepal for the youth. He shared insights into the number of students pursuing education overseas and stressed that while quality education may come at a higher cost, it is an investment in the country's future.

Subedi pointed out that low-quality education, although initially cheaper, could prove to be more expensive in the long term. He expressed confidence in garnering support for their new educational initiative from educationists, intellectuals, industrialists, and businessmen.


Ram Krishna Dahal from MIT, an experienced figure in the education sector, discussed the institution's efforts to provide world-class knowledge and skills within Nepal. He announced the availability of admissions in BBA and MBA programs affiliated with the International American University (IAU) and expressed hope for collaboration and support. Additionally, Dahal revealed MIT's plan to offer affordable IT courses in partnership with IAU in the near future.


Also addressing the program, Rameshwar Aryal, chairman of KMC network and director of the organization, mentioned that students at MIT have the opportunity to pursue American higher education at MIT in Nepal during their studies. Should they choose, they can further their studies in the USA.


As a key presenter of the Academic Leadership Summit, Former Vice Chancellor of Mid-Western University, Prof. Dr. Upendra Kumar Koirala, presented a paper on "Needs, Problems, and Solutions of Higher Education," highlighting the immense potential in Nepal's education sector through collaborative efforts. He underlined the role of quality educational institutions in retaining educated youths within the country, enhancing global competitiveness, and adopting advanced teaching methodologies to address societal challenges.


Former Ambassador Karki emphasized that skilled human resources form the backbone of the country's economy and the building of a modern society. He stressed that a skilled workforce defines Nepal globally, emphasizing the importance of a well-structured curriculum and education system in nurturing disciplined and globally-minded youths.
