KATHMANDU, Feb 4: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has extended the deadline by seven days for additional applications for the position of Executive Director at the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA). Sources said the deadline was extended as sufficient applications were not received.

According to MoFA sources, only five candidates have applied in response to previous notice and only one of them was found to have fulfilled the minimum qualification.

The notice has been issued for the second time as per the decision of the meeting of the Selection and Recommendation Committee meeting formed for the appointment of the IFA Executive Director.

There is a provision in the procedure that at least three people should be recommended. But as the number of qualified candidates, who have applied for the post, is less than the minimum requirement, the MoFA application is insufficient to be recommended. So, it has decided to extend the deadline for submitting applications by seven days.

The Selection and Recommendation Committee has again invited applications for the post of executive director as per the previous criteria.
