MoHA forms committee to adjust police personnel in the federal setup

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has formed a police personnel adjustment committee.


The committee comprises five members and is chaired by the head of the administration division of the MoHA. Its purpose is to oversee the completion of tasks related to the adjustment of police personnel in the  new federal setup.

The committee consists of a joint secretary from the Policy, Plan, Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the MoHA, deputy inspector general of police from the Police Headquarters, and members of the MoHA, as well as the under secretary from the Administration Division of the MoHA.


Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the joint secretary and spokesperson for the MoHA, issued a statement on Friday announcing the commencement of work related to the adjustment of police personnel.


"The formation of a five-member police staff adjustment committee has been initiated, and the process of police staff adjustment has commenced. We request relevant parties to provide necessary information," the statement read.


The MoHA is actively engaged in ensuring the effective implementation of federalism by facilitating the adjustment of police personnel between the Nepal Police and Provincial Police Services in accordance with the Constitution of Nepal and the Police Adjustment Act, 2076 BS.
