Nepali rock band, Monkey Temple played in the third episode of ‘Highlander Ghar Ma Sessions’ at Bricks Cafe, Kupondole on Saturday. The session was opened by the Sikkim-based singer, Leezum Bhutia.
The band performed ‘Gahiro’, ‘Socheko’, ‘Sangai Bachauna’ and the newest tracks from their ‘Ajambari’ album, which included ‘Yaad Haharule’ and the title track. The event also had the QnA sessions where the attendees asked the questions about the band’s music and the members.

On the live performance, Monkey Temple shared how they named the band’s name, wrote their hit songs and rose from being underground to a mainstream band. “We were the boys from St Xavier’s. We never had any plans or wishes to be famous. It just happened,” said Sareen Deoja, the frontman and the guitarist of the band.
The session with the band is scheduled to air via YouTube on any time around September.
Monkey Temple has been around the Nepali music scene since the late 90s. Currently, the band comprises Sareen Deoja on vocals/ guitars, Dipesh Shrestha on guitars, Jenish Maharjan on bass and Pratap Risal on drums. The band released their fourth studio album, ‘Ajambari’ on June 29.
