BIRATNAGAR, Nov 3: The Morang District Court has convicted two karate instructors who are in pre-trial custody on the charge of gang-raping a girl student.
Karate instructors Amar Subedi alias Suraj of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-4 and Binod Raut of Biratnagar-3, who were arrested on the charges of gang rape, were found guilty by the bench of Judge Ambika Prasad Dahal. Both of them were in custody for pre-trial since August 22, 2022.
The court’s Information Officer Om Subedi said that although Suraj and Binod were found guilty in the gang rape case, the bench will announce their sentences on November 8.

The permanent trainers of the National Sports Council (NSC) took a girl student studying at Birat Health College to a hotel in Biratnagar and raped her. Suraj was also working as the discipline in-charge at Birat Health College.
Subedi, who got close to the student on the pretext of helping her in the exam, repeatedly raped her. In the first week of June, 2022, Subedi took the student to a hotel against her will and called his close friend Raut.
After the two men gang-raped her, the girl filed a complaint with the police claiming that she had been repeatedly raped. After filing a complaint, the police arrested Subedi and Raut on July 24, 2022 and investigated the incident.
The victim claimed that they had also made a video of her. But the video was not found during the investigation.
