KATHMANDU, Jan 24: National Assembly member Indira Devi Gautam has drawn the attention of the government to stop the production and distribution of substandard medicines.
Speaking in the zero hour at the National Assembly meeting on Tuesday, Gautam expressed concern over substandard medicines being produced and distributed in the market. She stated that these actions could negatively impact the health of citizens and called for relevant agencies to take action and inspect and ensure the quality of medicines.

Ganga Kumari Belbase, another member of the National Assembly, highlighted that cases of mistreatment of women and children have risen and that their safety is at risk. She urged the government to pay attention to the safety and security of women and children.
Similarly, another National Assembly member Tulsakumari Dahal drew the attention of the government to prevent the problem of waste management in Banchare Danda.
She said, "The urban development ministry and Kathmandu Metropolitan City coordinated the management of waste in Banchare Danda. This problem is coming up again. Therefore, let's think about it early and avoid a clash between the people and the security personnel like in the past.”
Bhagawati Neupane, another member of the National Assembly, called on the government to improve government hospitals. She stated that the general public is unable to secure beds in these hospitals and that this issue needs to be addressed.
