Murder-accused ‘Fataha Kanchha’ who was at large arrested after 19 years

ITAHARI, July 21: Police on Tuesday arrested murder-accused Prem Moktan aka “Fataha Kanchha’. He was on the loose for 19 years.

ITAHARI, July 21: Police on Tuesday arrested murder-accused Prem Moktan aka “Fataha Kanchha’. He was on the loose for 19 years.


The 37-year-old Moktan hails from Sundar Haraincha-6, Morang.

He and Ramit Moktan of the same place had been  absconding after stabbing Roshan Chaudhary of Itahari-1 on April 17, 2001.  Chaudhary had sustained multiple severe injuries.


Following a tip off that Moktan had returned home and hiding himself following the COVID-19 pandemic, police apprehended him from his home. The other accused Ramit Moktan, however, is still on the run.
