Murder-convict mayor freed without bail

MAHOTTARI, Aug 15: Mayor of Jaleshwor Municipality, Ram Shankar Mishra and General secretary of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN), Suresh Pandey, two of the accused in the murder of Assistant Sub-Inspector(ASI) Thaman BK during the Madhes movement were released on general date on Tuesday by the District Court, Mahottari.

MAHOTTARI, Aug 15: Mayor of Jaleshwor Municipality, Ram Shankar Mishra and General secretary of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN), Suresh Pandey, two of the accused in the murder of Assistant Sub-Inspector(ASI) Thaman BK during the Madhes movement were released on general date on Tuesday by the District Court, Mahottari.


On Monday, State Minister of Province 2 Abhiram Sharma, one of the accused in the ASI BK's murder was released on general date by the district court. Sharma had surrendered himself before the court at around 10:30 am, requesting to record his statement.

Following in Sharma's footsteps, Mishra and Pandey presented themselves before the court on Tuesday, urging the court to record their statement.
