NA passes condolence motion on Rana's demise

KATHMANDU, Aug 13 : The second session of the National Assembly today passed a condolence motion on the demise of former lawmaker Bharat Shamsher Rana.

KATHMANDU, Aug 13 : The second session of the National Assembly today passed a condolence motion on the demise of former lawmaker Bharat Shamsher Rana. 


The proposal was tabled by the NA's Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina.

The meeting also expressed deep sorrow over Rana's demise and observed a minute's silence. 


Rana died of a heart attack on August 10 in Kolkata in India. He was 91. Rana was elected member of the House of Representatives from Gorkha Parishad in the general elections in 2015 B.S. He also became main opposition leader in the Nepal's first people's elected parliament. He later made a contribution to merge the Parishad with the modern Nepali Congress. The NA will next meet tomorrow at 2 pm.
