KATHMANDU, Feb 10: National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and Canadian Senate Speaker George J. Furey held a meeting in Kathmandu on Monday.
The Canadian parliamentary delegation is here on a two-day visit. The meeting was primarily focused on further advancing bilateral relation between Nepal and Canada, according to Timilsina's secretariat.
The duo discussed on friendship, mutual cooperation and parliamentary exchanges between the two countries.

Addressing the meeting, Speaker Timalsina said that such a high-level visit will further strengthen the bilateral ties between Nepal and Canada.
“This is the first ever high-level visit from Canadian to Nepal and I hope such visits will continue in the days to follow”, he said.
Likewise, informing Canadian delegations about the establishment of stable government in Nepal, Timalsina urged Canada and other international communities to support Nepal to attain prosperity and development.
Meanwhile, Canadian Senate Speaker, during the meeting, said that the Canadian government highly values Nepal-Canada relation. He also committed to supporting Nepal on the behalf of the Canadian Government on various sectors including tourism, hydropower, wind energy and solar energy.
Likewise, the Canadian delegation is scheduled to hold a meeting with Nepal-Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group later on Monday.
On Tuesday, Canadian delegation will call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, and Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel.
