NAC starts commercial flight at Resunga Airport from today

GULMI, May 12: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has started commercial flights at Resunga Airport in Gulmi district. On Friday, the aircraft of Nepal Airlines with the call sign Nine N ABT made a commercial flight.

GULMI, May 12: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has started commercial flights at Resunga Airport in Gulmi district. On Friday, the aircraft of Nepal Airlines with the call sign Nine N ABT made a commercial flight.


The plane left Kathmandu for Resunga airport at 6:30 AM. Airport Air Traffic Controller Ayusha Karki said that the plane came to Resunga carrying 13 passengers besides the crew members.  There will be flights from Resunga Airport two days a week, Tuesday and Friday.

Before the operation of Resunga airport, Gulmi district residents used to go to Kathmandu by car till Bhairahawa in Rupandehi and from there by plane. Even when returning from Kathmandu, they had to travel by plane to Bhairahawa and then by car for almost five hours. Gulmi-Kathmandu journey by car takes about 13 to 22 hours.


The air fare from Resunga airport to Kathmandu is fixed at Rs 6,300 per person. Similarly, the fare from Kathmandu to Resunga Airport is Rs 6,500. Distance from Kathmandu to Resunga Airport is 50 minutes.


Resunga Airport is located in Ward No.-10 Simichour of Resunga Municipality of Gulmi. The airport can be reached by crossing a dirt road about 5 km from the district headquarters, Tamghas.
