KATHMANDU, March 3: The pre-commercial test flight scheduled to be conducted by Nepal Airlines from Gulmi's Resunga Airport on Friday will not take place.

Yograj Kandel, the spokesperson of the Airline Operators Association said, “Nepal Airlines had set a date for a test flight here before starting regular flights from the airport. However, due to internal problems of Nepal Airlines, the scheduled flight for Friday will not take place.”

He said that since the date of the flight has not been decided, the date of the flight will be decided soon.

Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has not approved the new flight schedule until the arrears have been paid, so the airline companies have not received permission to fly to the new destination. Due to this, the flight of Nepal Airlines has not been approved.

At the airport on June 8, 2018, a Tara Air took off from Dhule. Again on January 8, 2023, an 18-seat aircraft of Tara Air had a successful demonstration flight.

However, the date of Nepal Airlines' first test flight was set last Wednesday. However, it was moved to Friday because it took time to install the specialized materials at the airport.

Resunga Airport is located in Simichour of ward number-10 of Resunga municipality. The airport can be reached after crossing the dirt road about 5 kilometers from the district headquarters, Tamghas.
