KATHMANDU, Oct 25: The 147th Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) has been underway in Luanda, the capital of Angola, since October 23.
The event convened with the theme of 'parliamentary action for peace, justice and strong institutions' will run till October 27.

President of Republic of Angola, a Southern African nation Joao Manuel Goncalves Lourenco, the IPU secretary general, Martin Chungong and the United Nations special representative addressed the inaugural session.
National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina is leading a nine-member delegation to the Assembly. The team comprises National Assembly members Kumar Dasaundi and Jeetendra Narayan Dev, House of Representatives (HoR) members Rupa Sosi Chaudhary and Santosh Pariyar and Federal Parliament general secretary Dr Bharat Raj Gautam among others. Timilsina is scheduled to address the event, on behalf of Nepal, it is said.
