National Film Conference began on Thursday at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi. Addressing to the inaugural ceremony, chairperson of Film Development Board Keshab Bhattrai said the board has been focusing on the development of Nepali film fraternity.
In the event, he stressed the significance of technology and creativity for the development and prosperity of Nepali film in the future and urged everyone related to the film sector to give suggestion for proposed Film Bill.
“Bill is not only for Board or government. Since it is a legal document that leads Nepali film fraternity in the way of prosperity and development, I would appeal for your suggestion,” Bhattrai added.

Likewise, he opined that the government shall not invest while hosting IIFA in Nepal since it is an award ceremony of private Indian television.
Meanwhile, the four-day-long conference has featured the panel discussion on several topics including ‘Progress of Nepali Film Fraternity’, ‘Space of Women in Nepali film’ and many more.
