KATHMANDU, Sept 29:  The renowned national football team forward, Bimal Gharti Magar, has joined the list of Nepali players making a move to Australia.

Bimal, who had held a prominent role as a key player for Lalitpur City FC in the Nepal Super League (NSL), terminated his contract and has made his way to Australia. This marks another addition to the growing trend of Nepali footballers seeking opportunities abroad.

In recent times, a remarkable exodus of Nepali football talent has seen more than a dozen players relocate to Australia. Among them are prominent names such as Dinesh Rajbanshi, Suman Aryal, Mikchen Tamang, Hemant Thapa Magar, Nitin Thapa, Tej Tamang, Abhishek Rijal, Deepak Singh Thakuri, Bimal Rana, Regine Subba, Pujan Uparkoti, Nishan Khadka, and Ravi Paswan.

Experts in the field have expressed concerns about the potential repercussions of this trend. The migration of an entire generation, considered the backbone of the senior team, could potentially disrupt the balance of the national squad.
