‘National Science Expo-2019’ set to kick off

Himalayan White House College is organizing 8th edition of ‘National Science Expo’ on Saturday. 22 educational institutions from all across the country will be competing in the two-day event. As per the organizers, the expo will see the participation of 9th - 12th graders who will be working on varieties of themes including smart city, drone, stem project, wind-mill energy, robotics, hydro projects, and green village.


Participants will be judged on the basis of their demonstration (50%), presentation (30%) and SMS voting (20%). The voting lines will be opened on Sunday. At the exhibition, the students will showcase their projects in stalls and give brief presentation on their respective works. A jury comprising of ten members shall judge the projects. Speaking about the reason to organize the exhibition, Director of the college Narayan Kafle said, “The main motif of organizing this exhibition is to promote the creativity of students.”

Winner, first runner-up, and second runner-up will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. Principal of the college Yubraj Sharma expressed, “There is a global trend of organizing this kind of program and whether you are a science student or not, it’s equally important to understand basic science. I think that the event will definitely help build interest for science among the students and visitors.”


More than 7,000 students from various educational institutions are estimated to visit the exhibition set to be inaugurated by Chairperson of National Examination Board, Chandra Mani Poudel.
