According to Publicity Manager of the event Buddhi Bahadur Khatri, six teams namely the defending champion Armed Police Force (APF), New Diamond Academy, Nepal Police Club, Chitwan Tigers Club, Lalitpur Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center and Western Volleyball Team will participate in the event that will be played in league-cum-knockout format. The tournament will run for three days at Indra Rajya Medium School’s volleyball court in Lamachaur.

Event coordinator Sushil Kumar Shrestha announced that the winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 100,155 and the first and second runner-up will bag Rs 65,005 and 25,005 respectively.

Shrestha said that development of national sports, promotion of friendship and giving recognition for new and emerging players was the major objectives of the event. “There might be talented players at local levels. The event aims at helping in the overall development of national sports and expand the pool of the talents,” said Shrestha speaking in the event.

He explained that the absence of major players was due to subsequent camp and preparations for the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) which will be held in December. “A host of second-tier players will get opportunity this year due to unavailability of key players because of the upcoming SAG,” added Shrestha.

Likewise, an amount of Rs 25,005 and 15,005 will be provided to the top two finishers in the inter-school women volleyball.
