KATHMANDU, July 31: The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has demanded enforcement of full automation at the Supreme Court for hearing. A memorandum was submitted to Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki in this regard on Sunday.
An NBA team led by its Chairman Gopal Krishna Ghimire submitted the memorandum to Chief Justice Karki, demanding immediate implementation of full computerization to conduct the hearing. Receiving the memorandum, Chief Justice Karki reminded that a report was prepared under his leadership for reform in judiciary. It had pointed out anomalies in court and recommended remedies.

He said that the lottery system was adopted to ensure transparency in cases.
The NBA's 15th national conference and its 48th meeting of the central executive council held in Birgunj had decided to put forth a demand before SC to enforce a fully automated system for conducting hearings.
The NBA had underscored the implementation of report recommendations for ending thriving corruptions, irregularities, aberrations and anomalies, and brokering in judiciary. It would help promote independent judiciary, the NBA added.
NBA Chairman Ghimire argued that the Karki report on judiciary reform must be implemented soon. Similarly, CJ Karki was drawn to the appointment of judges on time.
