NC and ruling alliance candidates must be made victorious: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, May 5: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is necessary to make the NC and ruling alliance candidates victorious in the upcoming local level election to safeguard democracy and constitution.

KATHMANDU, May 5: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is necessary to make the NC and ruling alliance candidates victorious in the upcoming local level election to safeguard democracy and constitution. 


During a meeting held with central office-bearers of the Nepal Press Union on Wednesday, Deuba pointed out the need to ensure a win for the candidates in favor of democracy and change in the election scheduled for May 13 to protect constitution, democracy and republicanism.

Stating that the five-party alliance was formed to protect and strengthen federal democratic republic, constitution and basic norms and value of democracy, Deuba argued that electoral alliance and collaboration have been made among democratic forces formed to bring change in the country. 


The NC President further said that democracy would be strengthened only if NC becomes strong, while mentioning that NC has always stood for democracy, press freedom and citizen rights and the party would continue with the same stance in the days to come.
