NC cadres thrashed in Rautahat after poll victory

RAUTAHAT, Sept 24: Four Nepali Congress activists were injured in Rautahat after the main opposition CPN-UML cadres attacked them when they were celebrating election victory in Bindaban Municipality of the district.

RAUTAHAT, Sept 24: Four Nepali Congress activists were injured in Rautahat after the main opposition CPN-UML cadres attacked them when they were celebrating election victory in Bindaban Municipality of the district. 


The injured NC activists were celebrating the victory of NC leaders Ram Snehi Yadav and Jaha Khatun, who were elected as mayor and deputy mayor on Friday night. But UML cadres attacked the victory rally injuring Shekh Khairullah, Shekh Merajul, Shekh Janhir and Mohammud Saimullah, who had to be taken to Chandranigahapur Hospital, informed NC district chief Ram Krishna Yadav.

Yadav termed the attack as disrespect to the peoples' verdict and condemned it. 


Meanwhile, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal cadres attacked NC cadres after their leaders were defeated in Gadhimai Municipality. NC candidate Shyam Yadav and Subhadra Gupta were elected as mayor and deputy mayor of the municipality defeating RJPN candidate Abdul Kalam.
