GORKHA, May 17: Nepali Congress candidate Raju Gurung has been elected as chief of Siranchok Rural Municipality.
He secured 3,402 votes. His closest contender Nawaraj Pudasaini of Maoist Center got 3, 235 votes.
UML clinches victory in Phedap Rural Municipality
Similarly, NC candidate Rita Devkota secured 3,411 votes to become deputy chief of the rural municipality while her closest rival Maoist Center’s Dipa Gurun got 3236 votes.
With this win, NC has clinched victory in three rural municipalities.
There are nine rural municipalities and two municipalities in the Gorkha district.
Of the total five wards, NC has won 2, 3, and 4 while NC has won 1 and 5 wards.
