KATHMANDU, Nov 2: In a symbolic act of protest, Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Sanjay Kumar Gautam opted for silence during the zero-hour of the meeting of the House of Representatives, making a satirical statement without uttering a word.

KATHMANDU, Nov 2: In a symbolic act of protest, Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Sanjay Kumar Gautam opted for silence during the zero-hour of the meeting of the House of Representatives, making a satirical statement without uttering a word.


NC lawmaker Gautam, who is dissatisfied with the government over its failure to address the issues raised in parliament, spent zero hour without speaking  in the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday.

After lawmaker Gautam remained silent, Speaker Devraj Ghimire said, “Time has been provided to honorable members to speak.” But Gautam remained silent, a departure from the customary practice of speaking for approximately one minute during the zero-hour session.


After sarcasm without speaking, some lawmakers hit the table and expressed their support for MP Gautam's protest.
