KAILALI, Dec 14: A key leader of the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC), Gagan Thapa has accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of protecting corrupt people.
“PM Oli goes one step forward and gives his verdict on the mega corruption cases,” leader Thapa said while addressing a mass protest organized by the party in Dhangadhi of Sudur Paschim Province on Monday.
On the occasion, he also accused President Bidya Devi Bhandari of deviating from her role as the head of state. He challenged her to contest the upcoming election with him in Kathmandu. “Ignoring her duty of a neutral head of state, she is rather indulged in arbitrating the internal row of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).”
Speaking further, Thapa said that they were compelled to take to the streets as the government paid no heed to their frequent requests for correction. “We are not happy to stage demonstrations on the street. However, we will not stop until we bring the government on the right track.”

But, keep in mind that the country can’t be guarded by those who sold valuable assets of the country during the Panchayat System.”
