NC, Maoist Center submit list of HoR PR candidates

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: Nepali Congress has submitted the name list of the House of Representatives (HoR) members under proportional representation (PR) electoral system to the Election Commission (EC) on Monday.

A meeting of the party's central working committee held in Baluwatar on Monday finalized the names of 40 members. The party has picked six members from Dalit, 11 from indigenous, 12 from Khas-Aryan, six from Madheshi, three from Tharu and two from Muslim communities. 

The EC had set Monday as the deadline for parties to submit the names of the members recommended for HoR under PR electoral system.

Similarly, the Maoist submitted a list of 17 candidates under the PR system. The candidates included six candidates of Khas/Aryan origin, six from indigenous communities including one from Tharu, two from Dalits, two from Madhesi and one from Muslim minority groups.
