NC obstructs parliament; next meeting to be held on Sunday

KATHMANDU, March 15: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), has obstructed the parliament.


During the second session of the House of Representatives on Friday, Speaker Devraj Ghimire allowed Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane to present a motion to consider the Political Parties (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080.

Lawmakers belonging to NC then picketed the well, shouting demands for the resignation of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane and justice for the cooperative victims.


NC members picketed the well, causing disruption of the house meeting. Speaker Ghimire has called the next meeting of the HoR for 11 AM on Sunday.
