Ruling coalition decides to ratify MCC agreement today

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: A meeting of the ruling coalition held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar Sunday morning decided to ratify the US assistance Project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement with ‘explanatory note’ from parliament.

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: A meeting of the ruling coalition held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar Sunday morning decided to ratify the US assistance Project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement with an ‘explanatory note’ from parliament.


After the meeting, Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel informed the media that the meeting decided to ratify the project from the meeting of the House of Representatives after the government clarified that the MCC was a purely financial support and not a military one.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav and other top leaders of the coalition parties in Baluwatar.


Meanwhile, a meeting of the Maoist Center held this morning had decided to ratify the MCC compact agreement with an ‘explanatory note’.
