NC president Deuba urges Madhesi Front to accept amendment proposal

BIRGUNJ, Nov 27: Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the Madhesi Front should also support the constitution amendment proposal to be registered in the parliament today.

BIRGUNJ, Nov 27: Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the Madhesi Front should also support the constitution amendment proposal to be registered in the parliament today. 


Addressing a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union, Parsa branch in Birgunj today, Deuba expressed the confidence that the main opposition party, the CPN (UML), too will vote in favor of the proposal.

In response to a question, he said they have kept the Province Number 2 in priority in the constitution amendment proposal. He said he believed that the proposal would be registered today as talks with the CPN (UML) chairman KP Oli regarding constitution amendment had been positive. 


The NC president and former Prime Minister said his party was of the view that the demand of the Nepali people regarding forming provinces only comprising the Tarai districts in some region and only hilly districts at other region should be accepted. He also said the Nepali Congress was also positive regarding the citizenship issue. RSS
