NC to recommend names of ministers today

KATHMANDU, Aug 25:  Three weeks after the election of  Pushpa Kamal Dahal as prime minister, major ruling coalition partner the Nepali Congress (NC) is recommending names for ministers in the cabinet today after President Sher Bahadur Deuba settled the intra-party row by providing five ministers to the Paudel faction.

KATHMANDU, Aug 25:  Three weeks after the election of  Pushpa Kamal Dahal as prime minister, major ruling coalition partner the Nepali Congress (NC) is recommending names for ministers in the cabinet today after President Sher Bahadur Deuba settled the intra-party row by providing five ministers to the Paudel faction.


“We are recommending names for ministers in the Cabinet today as we have settled the intra-party bickering by allocating five ministers to the Paudel faction,”said  NC leader and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi.

From Paudel faction , Nabindra Raj Joshi, Sita Devi Yadav, Dipak Giri have been confirmed for ministers while for the remaining two  ministerial berths, Hridaya Ram Thani, Bal Bahadur KC, Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Romi Gauchan Thakali are in the race. 


The selection of ministers for the Cabinet had been delayed over the row of allotment of ministerial portfolios between the Deuba and Paudel factions.


An hours-long meeting of top NC leaders held at NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba's residence at Budhanilkantha on Wednesday had failed to reach any understanding among them on the selection of ministers from the party.
