KATHMANDU, May 4: The main opposition Nepali Congress on Saturday registered an amendment proposal on the annual policies and programs tabled by the government in the Federal Parliament.

In its amendment proposal registered in the parliament, the NC has sought to make changes in the speech delivered by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on behalf of the government on Friday.

Instead of using the term “my government”  in point 3 to 215, the NC has suggested to mention “Nepal Government” in the speech.

The party has also blamed the government for meddling the jurisdiction of the provincial and local governments through the policies and programs.

“The proposed programs may weaken the fundamental set-up of the democratic form of governance,” the NC stated in its amendment proposal.

The NC has also pointed out that the policies and programs of the government lack clarity in terms of its vision to achieve good governance, development, and prosperity.
