Congress finalizes candidates in Mahottari

MAHOTTARI, September 5: Nepali Congress (NC), Mahottari has revealed the names of candidates contesting for various posts in the third round of the local elections scheduled for September 18.

MAHOTTARI, September 5: Nepali Congress (NC), Mahottari has revealed the names of candidates contesting for various posts in the third round of the local elections scheduled for September 18.


As the number of candidates vying for various posts was high this time, it had become challenging for the party to choose candidates. However, it has picked the candidates for all the major and minor posts. Mahendra Kumar Ray, District Chairperson of NC informed that the party has given priority to the old and popular personalities who have long been contributing to the politics directly or indirectly.

 NC has forwarded the name of Ashok Sah for the post of Mayor and the name of Anita Sharma for the Deputy post of Deputy Mayor in Jaleshwar Municipality. Similarly, in Bardibas Municipality, Prahlad Chettri and Taradevi Mahato have been nominated for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively. Likewise in Gaushala Municipality, NC has picked Manu Prasad Adhikari for the Mayoral post and Sushila Devi Mahato for the post of Deputy Mayor.


Furthermore, party has fixed its candidates in Matihani, Manarasiswa, Ramgopalpur Municipality too. It has also finalized candidates for Pipara, Mahottari, Samsi, Ekdara, and Aurahi Rural Municipalities too.
