NC prepared a new statute in view of the federal parliament having the National Assembly and the House of Representatives.

The central committee meeting would initiate the process to pick the parliamentary party leader after approving the statute, said spokesperson Bishwo  Prakash Sharma. According to Sharma, the statute paves the way for electing the parliamentary party leader.

The meeting thanked party President Sher  Bahadur  Deuba for successfully holding the three-tier elections, thereby ensuring a strong foundation to implement the Constitution and federalism.

It is said that utmost efforts would be made to elect the parliamentary party leader unanimously. However, if the consensus eludes, the party will go for election.

To pile pressure on party central leaders, Nepal Student Union, party's student wing, has staged protests demanding that the party be run democratically.
