NC to form a panel for PP elections

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: The Nepali Congress (NC) is going to form a committee for the election to the party's parliamentary party (PP) leader. It is said that the meeting of the Central Working Committee will be held today.

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: The Nepali Congress (NC) is going to form a committee for the election to the party's parliamentary party (PP) leader. It is said that the meeting of the Central Working Committee will be held today.


Krishna Prasad Paudel, chief secretary of the NC Central Office, said that the agenda of the meeting included the formation of a committee for the election to the PP leader. In the meeting to be held at the party central office Sanepa at 3 PM, the post-election review and current political issues will also be discussed.

Article 40 of the party statute of NC provides for the formation of the parliamentary party of the party. The MPs of the party in the Federal Parliament are members of the NC parliamentary party. Similarly, in the parliamentary party, there is a provision in the constitution that the members of the House of Representatives elect the leader of the parliamentary party from among themselves.


Congress became the largest party in the Federal Parliament by winning 57 direct seats and 32 proportional seats in the House of Representatives elections held on November 20.
