NC to pick by-election candidates on March 31

KATHMANDU, March 26:  The Nepali Congress (NC) is going to select its candidates for the by-elections on March 31.

KATHMANDU, March 26:  The Nepali Congress (NC) is going to select its candidates for the by-elections on March 31.


According to the party, the candidates for the by-elections to be held on April 27 for a member of the Provincial Assembly (A) of Bajhang and a member of the House of Representatives from Ilam-2 will be selected on March 31

According to party sources, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba said that the candidates will be selected on March 31.


He said that Deuba, however, did not say anything about who the candidates would be. In the NC, there is a provision in the statute that the parliamentary board selects candidates.


In NC, according to the party's statute, the parliamentary board is responsible for selecting candidates.


Seven names have been recommended to the HoR by-election in Ilam-2. The names of Bhesh Raj Acharya, Keshav Thapa, Dambar Khadka, Nagendra Kumal, Ramesh Lingden, Chanda Maya Limbu and Chandrakala Rai have been recommended.
