JANAKPUR, Dec 14: Dr Pankaj Chaudhary of Ramgopalpur Municipality-5, Mahottari, has been arrested by the Mahottari Police. Superintendent of Police Krishna Pangeni said that Chaudhary was arrested from his own house at 11 o'clock on Tuesday night.
After his wife Neha Chaudhary filed a case against Pankaj accusing him of domestic violence and demanding dowry, the District Court, Mahottari, ordered Neha’s family members to let her enter the house while hearing the domestic violence case on Monday.
But after Dr Pankaj and his family did not allow Neha to enter the house, Pankaj was arrested at night and brought to the District Police Office, Mahottari. After the arrest of Pankaj, other members of his family locked the house and are absconding. Neha has registered a case against 6 people including her husband.

Pankaj's family had a dispute with Neha, who had reached home to live with her husband. Sometime after the dispute, Neha staged a sit-in at the gate of the house. She pleaded with the local representatives to let her enter the house. But when no one took interest, she returned from there.
Nine months ago, Neha of Aurahi Municipality-1 was married to Pankaj. Pankaj, who is a doctor, worked at Grande International Hospital and Norvic International Hospital in the capital. Pankaj has been fired from his job after being accused of violence against his wife.
Seven cases have been registered in the case of Neha and Pankaj. Five cases have been filed by Neha against Pankaj and two cases have been filed by Pankaj against Neha. Pankaj filed a divorce case in District Court Mahottari and an injunction case in High Court Janakpur. Lawyer Rinku Kumari, who is fighting Neha’s cases for free, gave the information that the next hearing on the injunction case was scheduled for January 3.
Neha has also filed five cases against her husband Pankaj. The lawyer Yadav said that Pankaj has been charged with criminal cases related to partiality, domestic violence, water supply, written divorce and dowry. In the dowry case, compensation worth Rs 5 million and five years imprisonment have been claimed. But despite registering all these cases, Neha is ready to settle down and live with her husband. According to lawyer Yadav, if Pankaj is positive about reconciliation, Neha intends to withdraw all the cases and live with him.
