KATHMANDU, May 25: A day after the party expelled him from even the party's general membership, CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused the party Chairman KP Oli of splitting the UML at the behest of forces hatching conspiracies.

Issuing a statement on his facebook page, senior leader Nepal, who was expelled from the party's general membership on Monday, said that the campaign of Chairman Oli to push the party into a mess had come to an end by taking the so-called action and expulsion of them from the party.

"It is unfortunate to see the situation in which brokers, mafias and goons are encouraged but proletariats and ordinary Nepali people in general are left ignored even when a communist government is in place," Nepal has said. "The activities and controversial aspects of the Oli-led government are crystal clear among us all. The organization of CPN-UML was made weak when Oli became the patron of brokers. Mafias ruled over honest, committed and those who made sacrifices [ for the cause of the party]."

Nepal has said that they were expelled from the party when they raised these issues. "We were attacked by KP Oli when we raised our voice against this. The so-called action or expulsion made by the KP faction is now the reflection of the same," he further said.

Nepal has also alleged that Oli had presented himself as an anti-national and regressive character in Nepal's communist movement to bring the entire communist movement to an end. He has urged one and all to be involved in the campaign to defeat Oli's ambition to establish totalitarianism and autocratic rule and safeguard democracy in the country.
