Nepal Army soldier injured while defusing IED in Pokhara

POKHARA, April 18: A Nepal Army soldier has sustained injuries in the course of defusing the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by the Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)'s group calling for a general shutdown today.

POKHARA, April 18: A Nepal Army soldier has sustained injuries in the course of defusing the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by the Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)'s group calling for a general shutdown today.


The soldier, identified as Nayak Dharma Bahadur Thapa of the Kalibhanjyang Battalion, has suffered injuries to the palm in his left hand while trying to deactivate the IED planted on the roadside near the State Assembly at local Nadipur.

He has been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment after being provided preliminary treatment in Fishtail Hospital here, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rabindra Man Gurung, said. Meanwhile, a bomb disposal squad of Nepal Army has been mobilized to a place near the Trade Mall at Chipledhunga after a suspicious object was discovered there.
